===================================================================== WOTT SESSION KEY LEVELS v1.0.0 — Session Levels for NinjaTrader 8 by Way of the Trader | wayofthetrader.com ===================================================================== Indicator that draws the key levels of the trading session on any intraday NinjaTrader 8 chart — London and New York highs and lows, the opening range, the initial balance, POC and value area — names each line at the right edge of the chart, and tags the session opens and the opening-range breakout on the candle. Visual only: it never places, moves or cancels an order. --------------------------------------------------------------------- REQUIREMENTS --------------------------------------------------------------------- - NinjaTrader 8 (8.1 or newer) on Windows - An intraday chart (minute, range, tick ...) - A data feed with 1-minute history (any standard futures feed) - Nothing else: no internet connection of its own, no Order Flow+, no other add-ons --------------------------------------------------------------------- INSTALLATION --------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Download WotTSessionKeyLevels_v1.0.0.zip (do NOT unzip it). 2. In NinjaTrader: Control Center -> Tools -> Import -> NinjaScript Add-On... 3. Select the downloaded zip file and confirm. 4. Open a chart -> right-click -> Indicators... -> add "WotT Session Key Levels" -> OK. The first time it loads on a chart it fetches 1-minute bars for the days on that chart, so the lines take a moment to appear. --------------------------------------------------------------------- QUICK START --------------------------------------------------------------------- The defaults fit US index futures (NQ/MNQ, ES/MES): London from 08:00 London time, New York 09:30-16:00 New York time, a 30-minute opening range and a 60-minute initial balance. Nothing has to be configured. 1. Read the right edge: every line is named where it ends, and today's lines also show the price. 2. Levels at the same price share one label, e.g. NY H · IB H. 3. A level that is still forming is dashed or dotted and follows price. When its window closes it switches to its final style and stops moving. 4. Lines of previous days are drawn fainter than today's. 5. Too many lines? Every line has its own checkbox in the "2. Sessions London open and close (London time), New York open and close (New York time), start of the trading day, ORB length, IB length. Switch "London range ends at the New York open" off to run the London range until the London close. 2. Levels One checkbox per line. 3. Volume profile Value area (%), row height (ticks), minutes before today's profile appears. 4. Bubbles Session-open bubbles, ORB breakout bubbles (BothDirections / FirstOnly / Off), time in the bubble, dotted session-open lines. 5. Display Days to show, prices in labels, label font size, "Lines and labels opacity", "Previous days opacity", "Start lines at the extreme". 6. Lines Colour, width and dash style of each group. Settings are saved with the chart, the workspace and chart templates, like those of any other indicator. --------------------------------------------------------------------- GOOD TO KNOW --------------------------------------------------------------------- - The levels are measured on the indicator's own 24-hour, 1-minute data, not on the bars of your chart. They are the same on every chart type, and a chart set to regular trading hours only still gets its London range. - Session times follow London and New York, daylight saving included. The time zone of your PC does not matter. - POC and value area are an ESTIMATE built from 1-minute bars (no tick data needed). Expect a few points of difference from a tick-by-tick volume profile on NQ. Use them as zones. - The indicator does not change the price scale of the chart. A level far from the current price is drawn, but you only see it when that price is on screen. - The ORB bubble marks the first candle OF YOUR CHART that closes outside the range, so charts with different bar types can tag candles a few minutes apart. The levels are identical. - On daily and higher intervals the indicator shows a short message instead of levels: it needs an intraday chart. - It uses NinjaTrader's built-in "Default 24 x 7" trading-hours template. Do not delete or rename that template. --------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATING / UNINSTALLING --------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: Tools -> Remove NinjaScript Assembly (remove the old WotT Session Key Levels), restart NinjaTrader, then import the new version zip. Uninstall: Remove the indicator from your charts, then Tools -> Remove NinjaScript Assembly. The indicator writes no files to your disk. --------------------------------------------------------------------- REPORTING A PROBLEM --------------------------------------------------------------------- Use the "Report a bug" form on the product page.
