WotT Event Monitor for NinjaTrader

An on-chart panel for futures traders who trade through the US session: a live countdown to the next high-impact release, every event in chronological order, earnings flags, a no-trade window you set yourself and a sound alert. Runs entirely inside NinjaTrader 8 — no external apps, no subscriptions.

News window

The candle you never saw coming

Most blown evaluations don't die on a bad setup — they die on a news candle the trader didn't know was scheduled. CPI, PCE, FOMC: one candle through your stop, and the plan for the week is gone.

WotT Event Monitor keeps the schedule in your field of view, on the chart itself:

• Countdown to the next high-impact release. An amber pill is always at the top of the panel: what's next and in exactly how long — down to the second.
• A no-trade window you define. X minutes before and Y after every high-impact release the panel frame turns amber and shows NEWS WINDOW · Core PCE m/m · ends in 7:12. You decide how wide your buffer is.
• A heads-up you can hear. One sound alert N minutes before each high-impact release — even when the panel is collapsed or hidden. Exactly once per event, never spammed.

Visual only — by design. The indicator never touches your orders, never blocks your entries, never flattens anything. It informs; the decision stays yours.

Flow

How it works

1. Add it to a chart

   Indicators → WotT Event Monitor. The panel appears bottom-left (any corner, offset, opacity and font size are configurable). Data loads within seconds.

2. Read the schedule at a glance

   Events are listed chronologically with impact bolts: ⚡⚡⚡ high, ⚡⚡ medium, ⚡ low. You control how many rows you see (1–15) — the screen is your resource, we don't hide anything behind a filter.

3. Earnings included

   A separate EARNINGS section with AMC/BMO badges and tickers that move the Nasdaq — NVDA, MSFT, AAPL — with approximate countdowns anchored to the session open/close.

4. The window arms itself

   N minutes before a high-impact release: amber frame, NEWS WINDOW pill, sound alert. After the release the row dims to now, then drops off the list.

5. Collapse it when you're in a trade

   Click the header — the panel folds to a single line with the nearest news. Click again to expand. The state survives platform restarts.

FAQ

Common questions

Does it block my orders during the news window?

No — and it never will. The window is visual (amber frame + pill). The indicator has zero integration with orders; risk control stays in your hands.

Where does the data come from?

From the same source as our Calendar page — the WotT calendar API (USD releases + Nasdaq-relevant earnings). The panel refreshes every few minutes; one shared poll serves all your charts.

What happens when my internet drops?

The panel keeps the last downloaded schedule and shows a data delayed badge until the connection returns. It never throws errors onto the chart.

Can I change the alert sound or timing?

Yes. Alert minutes before sets the lead time; Alert sound file accepts the built-in WotT Chime or any WAV file name from the NinjaTrader 8 sounds folder. The alert fires exactly once per release, even with several charts open.

Why don't earnings trigger the window and the alert?

By design in v1: earnings have no exact publication second, so we don't pretend they do — the tilde (~) countdown says "approximately". An opt-in earnings window is planned for v2.

Does it work on Market Replay?

The panel displays and counts down to real upcoming events (wall-clock time) — it's a live-schedule tool, not a historical one. It won't interfere with Replay.

Install

Three steps

1. Download the zip

   Grab WotTEventMonitor_v1.0.0.zip below. Don't unzip it — NinjaTrader imports the archive as-is.

2. Import into NinjaTrader 8

   Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On → pick the zip. NinjaTrader compiles it and confirms the import.

3. Add it to a chart

   Indicators → WotT Event Monitor → OK. Done — the panel appears bottom-left with this week's schedule.
