Bookmap Add-Ons for NQ: Stops and Icebergs, Large Lot Tracker and What Needs MBO Data

Bookmap's add-ons for NQ sorted by the data they need: the ones that run on any full-depth feed, the ones that require market-by-order data, which plan includes what, and what each data connection gives you at the time of writing. Plus what Stops & Icebergs can and can't detect.

Bookmap Add-Ons for NQ: Stops and Icebergs, Large Lot Tracker and What Needs MBO Data

Most of Bookmap's add-ons for NQ run on ordinary full-depth data. The ones that don't are the ones traders ask about most: Stops & Icebergs and the rest of the MBO Bundle need market-by-order (MBO) data, where every resting order on the CME book arrives with its own ID and size, instead of market-by-price (MBP) data, which only gives the total size at each price. Which feed you connect decides which add-ons work at all. The base setup is in Bookmap setup for NQ, and if Bookmap runs next to NinjaTrader on your desk, the NinjaTrader 8 chart setup covers the other screen.

The add-ons, by the data they need

Add-onWhat it showsWhere it comes fromNeeds MBO
Stops & Icebergs (On-Chart, Sub-Chart)Native CME iceberg orders once their visible part trades, and executed stop orders grouped into stop runsMBO BundleYes, CME MBO in non-aggregated mode
Liquidity Tracker ProBid and ask liquidity across the book over time, weighted toward recent and nearby levels, with an order-size filterMBO BundleNo for the tracker; the size filter works only with Rithmic or BookmapData CME
AbsorptionPrices where traded volume passed a set size within a set time, buy and sell counted separatelyIncluded in Global+, also sold separatelyNo
SweepsVolume that traded through a minimum number of price levels within a time windowIncluded in Global+No, it works from trades
Large Lot TrackerBookmap's estimate of the largest single resting order at a price, drawn as a line on the order book columnGlobal+ and Global Premium (replay only on Global)No; it's an estimate, not exchange data
CVDCumulative delta from aggressor volumeFree add-on, all plansNo
Order book and volume imbalanceBid versus ask size and buy versus sell volume over the visible rangeGlobal+ and Global Premium (replay only on Global)No

The MBO Bundle also carries Tradermap Pro and the Market Pulse algorithms; Stops & Icebergs is the part that works only on CME futures. The bundle is included in the Global Premium plan and sold as an add-on for Global and Global+. On the Global plan, Bookmap's pricing table limits Large Lot Tracker and the imbalance indicators to replay mode; they run live on Global+ and Global Premium.

Plans and data, at the time of writing

Bookmap's software price never includes real-time futures or stock data.

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyLifetime
DigitalFree: delayed futures and stocks, real-time crypto
Global$49$39 a month$990
Global+$99$79 a month$1,990
Global Premium$199$158 a month$3,990

For NQ the feed matters more than the plan:

Data connectionDepthMBONon-professional price
BookmapData CMEFullYes$34 a month for CME, $79 for the four CME Group exchanges
Rithmic, directFullYes, with "Aggregate quotes" unticked$39 a month per exchange, $101 for the four-exchange bundle
dxFeedFullNo$37 a month per exchange
CQG10 levels (full depth only for crude oil)No
TradovatePartialNo

One combination catches NinjaTrader users. Rithmic data routed into Bookmap through NinjaTrader doesn't work with the MBO add-ons, according to Bookmap; they need Bookmap's own Rithmic connection. And many prop accounts trade through Tradovate or another CQG-based route, which gives Bookmap partial depth at best, so a trader who executes in NinjaTrader on a prop account often runs Bookmap on a separate data subscription. Which route your firm uses is covered in Rithmic vs Tradovate for prop accounts.

What Stops & Icebergs can and can't see

CME's MBO data marks the pieces of a native iceberg, an order that shows only part of its size and refills from a hidden reserve, so Bookmap can link the refills together. It can only do that after the visible part trades: an iceberg looks like an ordinary order until it starts filling, and the add-on marks it from that point on. Iceberg orders on CME explains the mechanics. Icebergs that a trader builds by hand or with their own software, called synthetic icebergs, aren't native, and Bookmap detects those with a separate tool that it says can produce false positives.

Stops are harder still, because a stop order isn't on the book until it triggers. Bookmap identifies stops from the trades they produce and groups trades from one stop run into a chain. Its own documentation lists the limits: detections can be lost or invented when data is aggregated under heavy load, and two PCs can see slightly different results. Bookmap's write-up of the Sub-Chart adds that it "does not generate buy and sell signals". The same caution applies to every size-based reading on a heatmap, including size that appears and disappears, which is covered in spoofing and pulled liquidity on the NQ heatmap.

A practical way to choose: Global+ with any full-depth feed covers absorption, sweeps and delta, which is most of what an NQ heatmap is used for. The MBO Bundle earns its price only if iceberg and stop-run markers will change trade decisions, and only on BookmapData or direct Rithmic. If the question is whether you need Bookmap at all next to NinjaTrader's own Order Flow+ tools, Market Depth Map vs Bookmap compares the two.
