Which Futures Prop Firms Support NinjaTrader 8, and Which Moved to Their Own Platforms
A firm-by-firm table of which futures prop firms still support NinjaTrader 8 for new accounts, on which feed, and which moved to their own platforms. Plus what the side NT8 runs on means for Order Flow+, Bookmap and trade copiers.
Of ten futures prop firms checked on October 14, 2026, eight still let a new account trade through NinjaTrader 8 (NT8). Two don't: Topstep has put new accounts on its own TopstepX platform since July 2025, and Alpha Futures stopped offering NinjaTrader and Tradovate for new accounts on July 12, 2026. Among the prop firms that use NinjaTrader, the better question now is which side of the firm NT8 runs on, because several of them support it on only one of their two data feeds.
New to evaluations? The pillar starts from zero, and prop firm data feeds explains the Tradovate/CQG and Rithmic feeds this table keeps coming back to.
| Firm | NT8 for new accounts | NT8 runs on | Other platforms offered | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Trader Funding | Yes | Rithmic or Tradovate | Tradovate, TradingView, R|Trader Pro, Bookmap, Quantower, Sierra Chart, WealthCharts and more | No platform change found with the March 2026 rule update |
| Elite Trader Funding | Yes | Rithmic or Tradovate | Tradovate, TradingView, R|Trader Pro, Quantower, Sierra Chart, Bookmap, Tickblaze | |
| Bulenox | Yes | Rithmic | Other Rithmic platforms | Help center lists a free NT8 license |
| Lucid Trading | Yes | Tradovate (CQG) | Tradovate, TradingView; on Rithmic: Quantower, Bookmap, ATAS, Sierra Chart, MotiveWave and others | |
| Tradeify | Yes | Tradovate | Tradovate, TradingView, WealthCharts; on Rithmic: Quantower, Sierra Chart, Tradesea, R|Trader | Only Tradeify's own NT license allowed |
| MyFundedFutures | Yes | Tradovate | Tradovate, TradingView, Quantower, Volumetrica, DeepChart, ATAS, Hyperprop | NinjaTrader's own partner list still shows the firm as coming soon |
| Take Profit Trader | Yes | Tradovate (CQG) or Rithmic | Tradovate, TradingView; on Rithmic: R|Trader, Quantower, Bookmap, MotiveWave, MultiCharts and others | Homepage lists NT8 under CQG; help center also has a Rithmic guide |
| TradeDay | Yes | Tradovate (CQG) | Tradovate, TradingView, Jigsaw; on Rithmic: R|Trader Pro, Quantower, Bookmap, Sierra Chart and others | Says it doesn't support NT8 on Rithmic accounts |
| Topstep | No | n/a | TopstepX; Quantower with a TopstepX login | Ask Topstep what happens to an older NT8 account at reset |
| Alpha Futures | No | n/a | AlphaTrader, TradingView, WealthCharts, Quantower, DeepChart | NinjaTrader and Tradovate dropped for new accounts; existing accounts moving to AlphaTrader |
Everything in the table comes from each firm's help center at the time of writing. Platform lists change more often than rulebooks, so check the firm's own page before you buy.
Why two firms left
TopstepX runs on ProjectX, a platform other prop firms also offered until ProjectX ended its service for third-party firms at the end of February 2026, a move Finance Magnates reported in November 2025. That removed it from firms such as Lucid and Tradeify. Topstep's help center now calls TopstepX its only available trading platform. Alpha Futures launched its own AlphaTrader platform and dropped NinjaTrader and Tradovate for new accounts in July 2026, and says its existing accounts are being moved to AlphaTrader.
A firm with its own platform enforces its rules inside software it controls and decides which outside tools may connect. Whatever a trader built for NT8 stays behind.
What the side NT8 runs on changes
At Lucid, Tradeify, MyFundedFutures and TradeDay, NT8 means the Tradovate side. At Bulenox it means Rithmic. Apex, Elite Trader Funding and Take Profit Trader offer both. That choice reaches further than the login.
License and Order Flow+. On the Tradovate side the prop login unlocks NT8, and NinjaTrader's Order Flow+ tools are available to prop accounts. On the Rithmic side NT8 runs on an evaluation entitlement, and Order Flow+ doesn't come with it. NinjaTrader license on a prop account covers both cases.
Bookmap with full order data. On a prop account, Bookmap's order-level tools get market-by-order data only through the firm's Rithmic connection. A trader who wants NT8 and Bookmap on the same prop account can only do that where NT8 also runs on Rithmic: Apex, Elite Trader Funding, Bulenox and Take Profit Trader in this table.
Trade copiers. A copier that runs inside NT8 can only reach accounts NT8 is connected to, so a TopstepX account is out of its reach, and mixing Tradovate-side and Rithmic-side accounts needs multi-provider mode. Prop firm trade copier rules covers what firms allow once the connections work.
Older Topstep accounts. When Topstep made the switch, its help center said existing accounts on NT8, Tradovate or Rithmic could keep trading, while resets would move to TopstepX. Its current help center no longer mentions those platforms, so ask Topstep before planning around an old Combine.
Choosing a firm with NT8 in mind
There are three reasonable positions. If your setup is NT8 (ATM strategies, NinjaScript indicators, a copier), pick a firm that supports it on the feed you want, and treat the platform list as part of the rulebook you check before buying. If your charts live in TradingView, eight of the ten firms here offer it, Alpha Futures included, and platform support stops being the deciding factor. And if a firm's rules suit you better than any NT8 firm's, its platform is a cost to learn once; TradingView vs NinjaTrader shows what changes when you move off NT8.
My own accounts are LucidFlex at Lucid (affiliate link), on the Tradovate side in NT8, because the tools I build are NinjaScript and the copier I use runs inside NT8. How Lucid's plans differ is in Lucid account types.
